Job Summary and Qualifications
This position is responsible for providing overall strategic sourcing direction and management of healthcare facility related supplier agreements that support constructing, maintaining and operating hospitals and ancillary healthcare facilities.
In addition, this position is also responsible leading and managing agreements for natural gas, electricity and related energy services. The position manages a team that is both client and supplier facing with an emphasis on volume aggregation, creating industry leading pricing along with contract risk management as a service. Additionally, this position provides a high degree of focus on strategy development leading towards reducing client's facility operating and capital cost
This position requires a proven track record of success in leadership, communications and organizational influence by working with executives, advisory boards, legal, finance, account management and other departments in the delivery of sourcing results.
Expertise in category development and expansion of the assigned contract portfolio is also required as part of this role.
Mandatory key competencies include communications and presentation skills, planning & organizing, strategic decision making, organizational development, continuous learning, customer relations and strong work standards. Responsibilities also include the development and execution of sourcing goals. In addition, this role requires the cultivation of strategic relationships with suppliers and clients.
What you will do in this role includes:
- Ensure best in class industry pricing and contract terms and conditions
- Individual interprets complex internal or external business issues and takes a broad perspective in identifying and executing solutions
- Responsible for department performance and outcomes
- Direct, staff, train and motivate the strategic sourcing team
- Ensure effective collaboration across other functional groups including account management, finance, sales and other internal organizations
- Lead interaction with client board members
- Engage senior executive management in strategic contracting discussions
- Support sales and account management activities
- Drive group towards achievement of financial and performance goals
- Innovate and develop new client solutions
Duties (included but not limited to):
- Act in accordance with highest ethical standards in performance of duties
- Meet or exceed contracting goals established in annual contracting plan
- Develop strategies and gain consensus from member boards and internal departments on contract award recommendations and associated financial results
- Manage and communicate project status and results with internal departments and members
- Ensure team performance of duties in accordance with internal policies and procedures
- Resolve member and vendor product or service issues
- Increase the contracted volume of both minority businesses and environmentally friendly/sustainable products.
- Provide leadership for new, complex and non-routine solicitations and special projects
- Demonstrate sound judgment and creative resolution significant business and legal terms

What qualifications you will need:
- Accredited College Bachelor's Degree required in business, finance or engineering required
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience is required. Candidate will have experience in directing a strategic sourcing team and negotiating a variety of contracts in the energy industry
- Relevant work experience includes, but is not limited to:
- Knowledge of healthcare facility design, build, maintenance and operations.
- Experience in working with healthcare facility managers, engineers, architects and constructors, ideally as an employee within a hospital organization.
- Knowledge of sustainability solutions (emissions, water, waste reduction)
- Energy commodity trading
