EHS Manager
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and safe manufacturing operations within an aerospace and defense environment. This role leads initiatives aimed at reducing risk, preventing incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture across production, engineering, maintenance, and support functions. The EHS Manager ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, DoD, and aerospace industry requirements while driving continuous improvement in EHS performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and continuously improve sitewide EHS programs, procedures, and training
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DoD, and aerospace/defense customer requirements
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses; oversee corrective actions
- Support environmental compliance activities, including waste management, emissions, reporting, and sustainability initiatives
- Lead emergency response planning, drills, and readiness activities
- Maintain required EHS documentation, reporting, and audit readiness for internal, customer, and regulatory audits
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Facilities teams to ensure safe processes, equipment, and work practices
- Track EHS metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety culture and reduce risk
Qualifications (Typical):
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, safety, engineering, or related field
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and EHS management systems
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
