EHS Manager
Position Summary
The EHS Manager leads safety, health, and environmental programs for an industrial manufacturing facility. This role advances a strong safety culture, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports operational excellence through effective risk management, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and promote a proactive, site-wide safety culture
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and emergency response plans
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations
- Conduct audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations with root cause analysis
- Manage environmental compliance programs related to air, water, wastewater, and stormwater
- Oversee contractor safety, training, and safety committees
- Maintain EHS metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement plans
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external partners
Qualifications
- 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Bachelor's degree in EHS, safety, environmental science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
- Experience in incident investigation, risk management, and employee training
- Union experience preferred
- CSP or CIH certification preferred
Working Conditions
- Industrial manufacturing environment with regular time in operational areas
- Occasional exposure to confined spaces, heights, and emergency response situations
- Some travel may be required
