Metallurgy Production Specialist

A growing steel manufacturing organization is seeking a Metallurgy Production Specialist to support product quality, process optimization, and customer satisfaction across mill operations. This role is ideal for a technically strong metallurgist who thrives in a handson production environment and is passionate about continuous improvement and crossfunctional collaboration.

The Metallurgy Production Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with product development, mill operations, and technical services to improve product robustness and reduce conversion costs
  • Support customer claims, corrective actions, and technical issue resolution in partnership with sales and technical teams
  • Execute and support product trials in coordination with metallurgists, engineers, and operations leadership
  • Drive root cause analysis of internal and external quality issues and implement improvement actions
  • Review customer requirements and product capabilities for assigned operational areas
  • Assist with daily product disposition and line parameter settings to ensure customer specifications are met
  • Maintain quality systems, documentation, and continuous improvement records
  • Support customer visits, mill tours, and technical exchanges

The Metallurgy Production Specialist should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in steel production and/or steel applications
  • Experience with data analysis, SPC, and process control tools
  • Knowledge of ISO, IATF, API, or related quality standards
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Positive, teamoriented mindset with a strong work ethic
  • Continuous improvement and problemsolving orientation
