Position Overview
The Plant Manager oversees all operations within a bottling facility specializing in bottled water and liquid beverage products. This role is responsible for production performance, safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, and cost‑effective operations. The Plant Manager develops and leads high‑performing teams, drives continuous improvement, and ensures the facility meets all quality and food safety standards required in the bottled water industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience with a strong maintenance background.
- Minimum 2 years in beverage, food, bottled water, or liquid consumer goods manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of GMPs, sanitation standards, FDA, SQF, HACCP, FSMA, and GFSI guidelines.
- Understanding of typical bottling line equipment (fillers, labelers, palletizers, conveyors); Krones experience preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Previous leadership experience with strong communication, organization, and facilitation skills.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office and ability to learn quality/ERP systems.
- Positive, self‑starting, multitask‑oriented workstyle with strong problem‑solving ability.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead all daily operations for a bottled water and beverage bottling plant, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor production performance and adjust operations to meet schedule and customer requirements.
- Ensure proper building, equipment, and grounds maintenance, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
Safety & Quality
- Enforce compliance with bottling industry standards, including FDA, SQF, GMP, HACCP, and other food safety requirements.
- Maintain quality control systems that ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure employees follow all GMP and PPE protocols, including hairnets, beard nets, ear protection, and safety glasses.
Financial & Strategic Management
- Develop annual operating plans, budgets, and performance targets.
- Participate in financial reviews; analyze cost, waste, and performance metrics.
- Conduct capital equipment evaluations and recommend investments.
People Leadership
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop plant personnel.
- Conduct performance reviews and make compensation recommendations.
- Provide direction, coaching, and accountability to production and maintenance teams.
- Lead disciplinary processes as necessary.
Materials & Supply Chain
- Implement and oversee purchasing, receiving, and inventory control systems to support continuous bottling operations.
