Plant Manager
Overview:
A leading manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee operations at a large food manufacturing facility. This role provides strategic and hands‑on leadership across production, packaging, maintenance, quality, and safety. The Plant Manager will drive operational performance, lead a large team, and ensure the facility delivers on customer expectations, efficiency goals, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily plant operations to meet production, quality, and safety targets.
- Manage and develop managers, supervisors, and technical teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee production planning, resource allocation, and cost control to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements; drive corrective actions and process enhancements.
- Champion safety initiatives, enforce policies, and conduct audits to maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage plant budgets, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and improve overall operational performance.
- Collaborate with suppliers, partners, and customers to ensure material readiness and strong service levels.
- Lead Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and streamline processes.
- Prepare and analyze performance reports, providing data‑driven insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally food production.
- Experience in a union environment; large‑scale or multi‑plant oversight a plus.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Proficiency with ERP systems; SAP/Oracle experience a plus.
- Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
