Product Compliance Specialist
A well‑established materials manufacturing organization is seeking a Product Compliance Specialist to support product safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management across a diverse product portfolio. This role partners closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, and other cross‑functional teams to ensure products and raw materials meet applicable regulatory, customer, and internal requirements. This role will be based on-site in the greater Charlotte, NC area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret regulatory requirements impacting raw materials, product development, manufacturing, and labeling.
- Conduct product and raw material risk assessments and advise cross‑functional teams on compliance requirements.
- Define and coordinate product compliance testing to meet applicable regulatory standards.
- Review and approve new and existing raw materials for regulatory and product safety compliance.
- Track emerging product safety and regulatory issues affecting materials and finished products.
- Respond to customer compliance inquiries and develop clear, accurate technical responses.
- Identify compliance risks, escalate issues appropriately, and support mitigation efforts.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Legal, Sales, and Customer Service.
- Partner with external laboratories and regulatory organizations on compliance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate compliance documentation and support customer and regulatory audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or product safety within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of product safety regulations; experience with food contact materials strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with product safety management systems and regulatory compliance tools (e.g., Sphera, 3E a plus).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and risk awareness.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support customers and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
