We're recruiting on behalf of an international freight forwarding business that is launching and scaling its Netherlands operations. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager with a strong ocean freight background who wants to build something from the ground up.
🚀 The Role
In your first 6 - 12 months, you'll be focused on delivering two critical operational projects to establish country-level operations. Once the setup phase is complete, you'll take full ownership of operations and build, recruit, and lead your own operations team.
This role suits someone hands-on, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in a scale-up environment.
🔑 Key Focus Areas
- Lead and deliver key operational setup projects
- Own and manage ocean freight operations
- Establish SOPs, processes, and workflows
- Act as senior operational lead in the Netherlands
- Recruit and build your own operations team post-setup
- Drive service quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement
✅ Requirements
- Proven Operations Management experience within freight forwarding / logistics
- Strong ocean freight experience - essential
- Fluent Dutch (spoken & written) - mandatory
- Knowledge of customs procedures and TMS systems is a big plus
- Airfreight experience is a plus
- Experience setting up or scaling operations is highly desirable
- Must be based in the Netherlands
