Application/Business Development Engineer
A leading international process technology manufacturer is expanding its business unit for powder processing and is seeking a Business Development Engineer / Application Engineer. The role combines technical application development, customer interaction, and market‑driven business development across industries such as food, chemicals, life science, pharma, nutraceuticals, and ingredients.
Responsibilities
- Analyse markets and identify opportunities for fluid bed technology.
- Develop market entry and growth strategies for target sectors.
- Screen new applications, assess potential, and support strategic business development.
- Create customer‑specific application and production concepts (powders, granulates, formulations, drying processes).
- Work closely with the laboratory team and coordinate customer trials.
- Provide technical consultation to customers internationally.
- Prepare application reports, case studies, and technical content for marketing and sales.
- Support marketing materials (presentations, brochures, technical articles).
- Represent the company at conferences, trade fairs, and industry events.
- Build and maintain networks with customers and industry partners.
Profile
- Degree in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or similar.
- Experience in food ingredients, chemicals, pharma, nutraceuticals, flavors, enzymes, detergents, drying technologies, powders/granulates, or related applications.
- Strong background in business development, market analysis, application engineering, or product management.
- Technical understanding of formulations, raw materials, and process interactions.
- German fluent/near-native (mandatory) and strong English skills.
- Proactive, structured, communicative, and able to work closely with laboratory and technical teams.
- Curious, analytical, and able to learn new applications quickly.
