Project Procurement Manager (M/F/D)
We are partnering with a key client in the automotive sector to appoint an experienced Project Procurement Manager to support complex, high-value programmes. Based in the Lake Constance region, this role sits at the intersection of purchasing, engineering, and project delivery, ensuring that procurement activities are aligned with project timelines, cost targets, and quality standards.
This is a highly visible position requiring strong stakeholder management and fluency in German to collaborate effectively with local teams and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement activities across assigned automotive projects from concept through to series production
- Act as the primary procurement interface within cross-functional project teams (engineering, quality, manufacturing, and logistics)
- Define and execute sourcing strategies aligned with project milestones, cost targets, and technical requirements
- Manage supplier selection, RFQs, negotiations, and contract award processes
- Ensure timely supplier nomination and component sourcing to meet programme deadlines
- Monitor and control project purchasing budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and mitigating risks
- Drive supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and cost improvements
- Support escalation management and ensure resolution of supply chain issues impacting project timelines
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives and continuous improvement programmes
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and automotive industry standards
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Significant experience in procurement or project purchasing within the automotive industry
- Proven track record managing purchasing activities in complex, cross-functional projects
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships at an international level
- Solid understanding of automotive development processes (e.g., APQP, PPAP)
- Experience working with Tier 1 suppliers or OEM environments is highly advantageous
- Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and deliver cost optimisation
- Fluent German (mandatory) and strong English language skills
