Purchasing Manager - OEM - Dong Guan
About the Role
We are looking for a Purchasing Manager - OEM (Dong Guan)to take full ownership of purchasing operations for our Dongguan manufacturing base. This role focuses on hands-on procurement execution, supplier management, cost control, and purchasing process excellence, ensuring efficient and competitive sourcing to support production.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Core Purchasing Operations
- Manage daily purchasing activities including RFQ, quotation analysis, PO issuance, and delivery tracking
- Ensure all purchasing processes are executed accurately and efficiently to support production demand
- Monitor order status, manage lead times, and ensure on-time material availability
🔹 Supplier Sourcing & Development
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suitable suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery capability
- Develop and expand supplier base, particularly within China localization sourcing
- Maintain close relationships with suppliers to ensure performance stability
🔹 Cost Control & Price Negotiation
- Lead price negotiations and commercial discussions to achieve best total cost ownership
- Continuously drive cost reduction initiatives through benchmarking, alternative sourcing, and process improvement
- Support cost analysis, budgeting, and savings tracking
🔹 Purchase Order & Contract Management
- Review and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing, terms, and delivery
- Manage supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies
- Handle payment terms, invoice alignment, and supplier account reconciliation
🔹 New Product Purchasing (NPI)
- Support sourcing activities during new product development stages
- Coordinate with engineering for supplier selection, tooling development, and sample validation
- Track procurement milestones to ensure smooth transition to mass production
🔹 Supplier Performance Management
- Monitor supplier performance in quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness
- Conduct regular supplier reviews and implement corrective actions when needed
- Support supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above within any disciplines
- 8-12+ years of experience in hands-on purchasing/procurement
- Strong experience in direct materials purchasing in manufacturing background in Asia
- Proven track record in supplier sourcing, price negotiation, and cost control
- Familiar with categories such as medical device, consumer electronics, industrial and commercial products
- Fluency of Mandarin Chinese speaking is a must
