Regional Market Development, Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical
Overview
This position is responsible for driving commercial growth across China (and potentially broader APAC markets) for a leading global CDMO providing end‑to‑end pharmaceutical development, clinical and commercial supply chain solutions. As a Regional Business Development Manager, you will develop and manage strategic customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and support clients across the full spectrum of drug development, clinical trial supply, packaging, and commercialization services.
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Commercial Growth
- Manage and expand customer relationships across China while identifying new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare sectors.
- Achieve annual sales targets through structured territory planning, pipeline development, and execution of commercial strategies.
- Maintain consistent engagement with existing and prospective clients, positioning the company's full CDMO capabilities as trusted solutions for development, clinical, and commercial supply needs.
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Update CRM systems (Salesforce) daily with client activity, opportunities, forecasting, and project details.
- Prepare monthly activity reports summarizing progress with current and potential customers.
- Develop and present the annual Sales Plan, outlining key opportunities, growth drivers, and territory strategy.
Client Engagement & Market Development
- Organize and participate in customer visits, presentations, capability overviews, and technical discussions.
- Represent the company at industry events including tradeshows, conferences, and scientific/clinical seminars.
- Prepare and lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with clients, involving internal cross‑functional experts when needed.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Technical, and Project Management teams to understand customer requirements and assess project feasibility.
- Support the preparation of accurate and timely quotations by coordinating necessary documentation, cost inputs, and technical details.
- Lead or support negotiations for quotations, confidentiality agreements (CDAs), and master service agreements (MSAs).
- Identify cross‑selling opportunities across services (development, packaging, clinical supply, commercialization) and coordinate with regional/global sales counterparts.
Industry Knowledge & Compliance
- Maintain a strong understanding of the company's service offerings, end‑to‑end pharmaceutical supply chain operations, and global CDMO trends.
- Stay informed on competitor capabilities, market developments, and customer needs to enhance commercial strategy.
- Manage personal travel and expense budgets in line with company policy.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 1-5 years of experience in business development, account management, sales, or related functions-preferably within CDMO, pharmaceutical services, clinical supplies, or healthcare sectors.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data, project requirements, and commercial metrics.
- Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in CRM systems, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital communication tools.
- Full professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Strong reasoning and problem‑solving skills; able to manage complex customer requirements, multi‑stakeholder interactions, and diverse project scenarios.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
