Overview
The Road Freight Specialist is responsible for the coordination and execution of road transportation activities, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of goods across domestic and international networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage road freight shipments (FTL / LTL / groupage)
- Plan and optimize routes, loads, and carrier selection
- Monitor transport operations and ensure on-time delivery
- Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal teams
- Handle transport documentation (e.g., CMR, invoices, shipment records)
- Resolve operational issues such as delays, damages, or missing shipments
- Maintain and update data in TMS systems
- Track KPIs and transport performance
- Support continuous improvement of transport efficiency and service quality
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in logistics, preferably in road freight or transport operations
- Good understanding of transport processes, routing, and carrier management
- Experience working with TMS systems and operational data
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and customer-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Fluent in English and German
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in international road freight or groupage networks
- Knowledge of freight pricing and cost control
- Experience working with 3PL or logistics service providers
