About the Role

A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Operations and Logistics Director to lead logistics and supply chain operations at a brand-new, high-tech sterile manufacturing site. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building and optimizing site logistics from the ground up, with a strong emphasis on warehouse operations, scheduling, and supply chain planning.

You'll be responsible for managing a team of approximately 35 employees, including 5-7 direct reports, and will play a critical role in shaping how materials flow through the site. This role requires close collaboration with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the site logistics team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, material movement, and shipping.
  • Drive scheduling and supply chain planning activities to support production and customer demand.
  • Implement and optimize SAP or similar ERP systems to improve visibility and efficiency.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support site readiness, tech transfer, and ramp-up activities.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external logistics providers and support international supply chain operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain or logistics, preferably within a regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
  • Proven track record of leading teams through change and transformation.
  • Deep expertise in warehouse operations, planning, and process optimization.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • International logistics or supply chain experience is a plus.
