Sr Warehouse Manager

The Senior Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies. This role ensures efficient warehouse operations through direct leadership or by managing subordinate supervisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and enforce operational policies, procedures, and best practices across receiving, warehousing, and distribution functions.
  • Develop and maintain efficient material flow and delivery systems to support production lines.
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels to meet customer delivery requirements while minimizing costs.
  • Implement and maintain reporting systems and departmental scorecards to track performance against financial and operational goals.
  • Supervise and reconcile physical inventory and cycle counts.
  • Identify and evaluate new materials, suppliers, and processes to improve quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to warehousing, material handling, and shipping.
  • Maintain warehouse layout and equipment, issuing work orders or requisitions as needed.
  • Participate in the Environmental Management Team and support the execution of environmental policies and systems.
  • Foster a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage an area of 5 warehouses.
  • Responsibilities include hiring, training, performance management, and conflict resolution in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Materials/Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred: Master's degree in a related discipline.

Experience:

  • Required: 5+ years of mangaement experience in a high-volume manufacturing warehouse environment.
  • Preferred: Experience in the automotive industry, especially with safety restraint systems. Familiarity with IATF 16949/ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Experience in unionized environments is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with materials management systems; familiarity with QAD or similar ERP systems is preferred.

Other Skills:

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and manage multiple abstract and concrete variables.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Frequent walking and sitting; occasional standing, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and use of hands.
  • Work environment includes exposure to mechanical parts, airborne particles, and high temperatures.
  • Use of PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes) is required in designated areas.
