Strategic Sourcing Specialist
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead sourcing initiatives that drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and support long-term business objectives. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and negotiating contracts across a range of categories including direct and indirect materials, services, and capital equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with company goals and supply chain objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Lead RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, analyze bids, and conduct supplier negotiations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Legal, and Finance to define requirements and ensure alignment.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply risks to inform sourcing decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in supplier management and procurement processes.
- Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, contracts, and supplier performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations (e.g., FAR/DFAR, ITAR/EAR if applicable).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M., CSCP).
- Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or high-tech industries.
- Familiarity with government contracting and compliance requirements.
- Fluency in a second language (e.g., German, Mandarin) is a plus.
