Technical Design Manager - China (Sports & Intimate)

About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Design Manager with expertise in sportswear and intimate apparel to lead our technical design team. This role is pivotal in ensuring product excellence, fit consistency, and innovation across our collections. You will collaborate closely with design, product development, and manufacturing teams to deliver garments that meet performance, comfort, and aesthetic standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management:

    • Lead and mentor a team of technical designers, ensuring best practices and continuous improvement.
    • Oversee workflow, timelines, and quality standards for all technical design projects.
  • Product Development:

    • Translate design concepts into accurate technical specifications and patterns.
    • Develop size charts, grading rules, and construction details for sports and intimate apparel.
  • Fit & Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct fit sessions and provide actionable feedback to achieve optimal fit and functionality.
    • Approve samples and monitor production for compliance with brand standards.
  • Innovation & Collaboration:

    • Partner with designers and R&D teams to integrate new materials and technologies.
    • Work closely with suppliers and factories to resolve technical challenges and maintain efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 7+ years experience in technical design, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of pattern making, grading, and garment construction for sportswear and intimate apparel.
  • Proficiency in CAD systems and technical specification tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English; Mandarin is a plus for regional collaboration.
