We're supporting a leading power generation equipment manufacturer on their search for an accomplished Director or VP of Sales to build and lead its national commercial strategy for Low Voltage Switchgear. This executive will develop the go-to-market plan, build a high-performing sales team from the ground up, and drive growth within mission‑critical market segments.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned sales leader with deep technical expertise in LV switchgear and a strong track record selling to distributors, EPCs, contractors, OEMs, consulting engineers, and end‑users who operate in or support the rapidly expanding data center space.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Leadership

  • Build and execute a national sales strategy focused exclusively on Low Voltage Switchgear.
  • Develop a scalable go‑to‑market model targeting customers that serve the data center ecosystem.
  • Establish annual sales plans, KPIs, and forecasting processes.
  • Create pricing strategies and competitive positioning aligned with market trends.

Business Development & Customer Engagement

  • Drive new business across EPCs, distributors, contractors, OEMs, engineering firms, and data center-focused end users.
  • Lead high‑value negotiations and strategic enterprise account management.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, customer meetings, and major bid events.
  • Strengthen brand presence within the mission‑critical infrastructure market.

Team Building & Leadership

  • Build a national sales organization from scratch-including hiring, onboarding, and mentoring sales talent.
  • Implement structured sales processes: CRM utilization, pipeline management, and account planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, results, and customer-centricity.

Internal Collaboration

  • Partner closely with product management and engineering to align customer needs with LV switchgear product offerings.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and operations to ensure production availability, lead times, and quality.
  • Provide voice-of-customer feedback to influence future product development.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of sales experience in the electrical equipment, power distribution, or related industrial sectors.
  • Direct, hands-on experience selling Low Voltage Switchgear to EPCs, contractors, distributors, OEMs, and engineering firms.
  • Demonstrated success driving commercial growth in the data center or mission‑critical market.
  • Proven ability to build, scale, and lead a sales team at a national level.
  • Strong technical understanding of LV switchgear systems, power distribution concepts, and application requirements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and contract negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (50-70%+).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UL891 or UL1558 LV gear or similar power distribution products.
  • Background in the power generation, backup power, or mission‑critical systems ecosystem.
  • Engineering degree (Electrical Engineering preferred) or equivalent technical background.
  • Prior Director/VP-level leadership in a manufacturing organization.

Location & Travel

  • Role may be remote or hybrid, depending on candidate location.
  • High travel required (50-70%+) to customer sites, partner locations, and corporate facilities.
