Bacon Product Manager
A large fully-integrated, food manufacturing company in the greater Lafayette, IN area is seeking a Product Manager to lead strategy, growth, and profitability for a core product category. This role owns category strategy, pricing, margin management, and cross‑functional execution, serving as the internal subject matter expert.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Own full P&L performance for the BACON product category, including pricing, margin, inventory, and assortment strategy
- Develop and execute short- and long-term category strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability
- Manage pricing activities (daily, seasonal, and strategic) to maximize margin and support commercial goals
- Partner closely with Sales to support customer reviews, negotiations, and annual planning activities
- Collaborate with Operations, Planning, and Finance to balance supply, demand, and inventory health
- Lead category forecasting and break-even modeling to guide production and sales decisions
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert for the category, providing guidance across the organization
- Support innovation and new product initiatives from concept through commercialization
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and performance data to inform strategy and decision-making
- Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure execution against category goals and service expectation
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in product or category management for BACON OR PORK.
- Demonstrated P&L ownership and strong analytical capability
- Experience working cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment
- ERP experience preferred (SAP a plus)
- Willingness to travel up to ~30%
