Global Operational Excellence Manager (m/w/d)
A globally operating industrial manufacturer is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking leader to shape, implement, and embed a comprehensive global Production System strategy. The role is instrumental in driving operational excellence, and strengthening a high‑performance, people‑focused culture across 130 international sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and define the global vision and roadmap for a unified production system approach, aligned with broader operational goals.
- Lead and develop international teams of operational excellence experts, fostering strong collaboration and capability building across regions.
- Implement a scalable global framework that incorporates Lean principles, structured problem solving, reliability methodologies, and process‑focused best practices.
- Cultivate a continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization by embedding lean leadership behaviors, systematic problem solving, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Advance global capability development, including operator training, skill development programs, certification models, and long‑term competency planning.
- Standardize operational routines such as daily management, performance reviews, problem-resolution processes, 5S, and visual management systems.
- Drive improvements in efficiency, waste reduction, material and information flow, automation, and process simplification across sites worldwide.
- Enhance equipment reliability by advancing preventive and autonomous maintenance practices, optimizing spare parts management, and leveraging data-driven maintenance systems.
- Integrate digital technologies (e.g., IoT, connected worker tools, real-time performance dashboards) to support transparency, predictive maintenance, and operational excellence.
- Partner with key global functions including operations, supply chain, engineering, and quality to ensure alignment, progress visibility, and risk mitigation.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, operational excellence, lean transformation, or maintenance at global or multi-site level.
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing site or plant environment strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deploy production or operational excellence systems across diverse international locations.
- Advanced knowledge of Lean methodologies, Six Sigma, TPM, and structured problem‑solving tools (e.g., A3, DMAIC, root‑cause analysis).
- Experience with Digital Manufacturing solutions and their application to operational improvement.
- Strong change management skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cultural transformation.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching abilities with a hands-on leadership style.
