Supervisory Responsibilities
- Direct oversight of one merchandiser.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct commodity trading to maximize company profitability.
- Manage cash grain, exchange-for-physical, and hedge execution.
- Process orders and manage risk positions.
- Perform cost analysis and scenario planning.
- Provide exceptional customer service regarding grades, bids, contracts, and more.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, elevators, and feed mills.
- Facilitate communication between facilities and teams.
- Monitor and report on crop and market conditions.
- Support U.S. corn production and supply/demand analysis.
- Collaborate with accounting and operations teams to ensure quality and compliance.
- Identify market opportunities and provide insights to plant management.
- Maintain grain warehouse licensing and compliance.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, Finance, or a related field.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in ag-business, commodity trading, or business economics.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office and Power BI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of accounting principles, pricing, and margin factors preferred.
- Sales and negotiation experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with cash commodity trading and CBOT is desirable.
