A leading global manufacturer is seeking a highly experienced Head of Plant Supply Chain to join their team in Ostrava, Czech Republic. This is a critical leadership role responsible for stabilizing and optimizing supply chain operations across two major manufacturing locations in the region.
This position offers the opportunity to drive strategic SCM initiatives, oversee ramp-up activities, and ensure operational excellence in a dynamic, high-volume production environment.
About the Role:
As the Head of Plant Supply Chain, you will lead all critical supply chain functions for two plants, you will manage a team of 6-8 direct reports and indirectly oversee 300-350 employees.
Your primary focus will be ensuring smooth ramp-up for one plant, maintaining KPIs for another, and implementing robust processes across warehousing, packaging, freight, and customs. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on involvement, and the ability to shape long-term SCM strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and stabilize supply chain operations across 2 plants.
- Manage ramp-up activities in Ostrava, ensuring zero disruptions and efficient logistics.
- Oversee all criticalSCM functions, including:
- Supply Chain Execution (E2E): Supervise execution through local SCM leads.
- Packaging Management: Drive improvement processes.
- Warehousing: Oversee two warehouse managers and related operations.
- Freight & Customs: Supervise compliance and clearance processes.
- Advanced SCM & Intralogistics: Collaborate with dedicated managers for optimization.
- SAP Key Users: Oversee 2-3 key users and support major SAP upgrade project.
- Ensure achievement of KPIs for both locations.
- Develop and implement long-term SCM strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to SCM teams, fostering capability development.
- Collaborate with Campus Head, Plant Managers, and Business SCM Head on strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Strong, proven experience in Supply Chain Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership managing diverse SCM functions and large teams.
- Hands-on operational exposure is a plus.
- Familiarity with SAP systems; experience with upgrades is advantageous.
- Automotive industry experience preferred due to sector-specific requirements.
- Fluent in English; Czech highly preferred.
- Regional experience and cultural familiarity beneficial.
