Process Safety Management Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer to lead and support the implementation of robust safety systems across our specialty chemical manufacturing operations. This role ensures compliance with OSHA's PSM standard and drives continuous improvement in process safety performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the PSM program across all applicable units.
- Facilitate and document Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) using methodologies such as HAZOP, What-If, and FMEA.
- Maintain and update Process Safety Information (PSI) including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and chemical data.
- Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) processes to ensure safe and compliant modifications to equipment, procedures, and processes.
- Conduct and support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure mechanical integrity of critical equipment.
- Develop and deliver training programs related to PSM elements for plant personnel.
- Monitor and report PSM metrics, audits, and compliance status to leadership.
- Stay current with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and emerging technologies in process safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or related process industries.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and other relevant safety regulations.
- Experience with PHA facilitation, MOC systems, and incident investigation tools.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Certification in PSM or related safety disciplines is a plus.
