Title: Purchasing Manager
Location: Duke, Oklahoma
Summary: The Purchasing Manager oversees the procurement of essential spare parts and raw materials needed to keep the plant operating smoothly. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service. Additionally, the individual in this position will contribute to the development and upkeep of the plant's inventory and purchasing database.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage procurement of services, raw materials, and spare parts to support plant operations
* Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service
* Oversee purchasing processes, approvals, and compliance with company policies and regulations
* Negotiate contracts and agreements for goods and services
* Monitor vendor performance and delivery timelines
* Maintain and optimize the plant's parts inventory system
* Collaborate with maintenance and plant personnel to locate and source required items
* Lead process improvements in purchasing and sourcing strategies
* Ensure adherence to safety standards and participate in required safety training
* Operate necessary equipment and tools for inventory and procurement tasks
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or G.E.D.
* Working knowledge of wallboard manufacturing process and product.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Strong computer skills must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Strong written and verbal skills.
* Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
* Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and timelines with interruptions.
* Good math skills are required to make precision measurements.
