Senior Maintenance Manager

Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Facilities and Maintenance is responsible for overseeing equipment maintenance and facilities operations to ensure optimal performance across manufacturing, R&D, and commercial functions. This role leads cross-functional teams, manages infrastructure projects, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations

  • Direct preventive and corrective maintenance for critical systems (e.g., HVAC, DI water, lyophilizers).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment performance issues.
  • Oversee equipment lifecycle management and qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Collaborate with engineering on upgrades and repairs.

Facilities Management

  • Manage facility upgrades, expansions, and contractor oversight.
  • Supervise building automation, security, janitorial, and safety services.
  • Ensure infrastructure supports operational needs within budget and timelines.
  • Optimize vendor contracts and utility services.

Project Management

  • Lead large-scale facility and equipment projects from planning to qualification.
  • Develop project specifications and coordinate cross-functional alignment.
  • Report progress, risks, and changes to leadership.

Leadership

  • Manage and develop facilities and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure cross-training and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with EHS to maintain OSHA and GMP compliance.
  • Provide 24/7 support for critical facility and equipment issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, pharma).
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in facilities and maintenance.
  • Strong project management skills in GMP environments.
  • Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and Google Suite.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
