Senior Process Engineer
The Senior Process Engineer will be tasked with identifying, documenting, and applying optimal manufacturing technologies. This role involves creating, updating, and enforcing specifications for equipment and processes. The engineer will lead assigned projects under the direction of the Manager and Director, ensuring they are completed within the defined timeline, budget, and technical requirements.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead Engineering Design & Project Development
Guide the conceptual design phase of projects, manage engineering documentation (P&IDs, PFDs), and oversee the full lifecycle from proposal to startup. - Vendor Evaluation & Procurement Support
Assess potential suppliers for technical and financial suitability, and participate in reviewing and negotiating bid packages. - Process & Equipment Design
Develop layouts for piping, utilities, and process equipment, including floor plans and conceptual designs for dairy and non-dairy manufacturing systems. - Installation, Commissioning & Validation
Support plant shutdowns, verify equipment installations, and contribute to commissioning and validation activities, including flush and tie-in plans. - Cross-Functional Collaboration & Expertise
Act as a subject matter expert in processing, working closely with operations, marketing, quality, and automation teams, and may serve as project manager when needed.
Ideal Skillset:
- Educational & Professional Background
Bachelor's degree in Processing, Mechanical, Biochemical, or Chemical Engineering, with 3+ years of relevant engineering experience. - Industry & Technical Expertise
Familiarity with food and beverage processing equipment and materials; experience in dairy processes like pasteurization and separation is a plus. Skilled in pump and piping sizing and general dairy equipment. - Project & Software Proficiency
Understanding of project lifecycle deliverables, contracts, and scheduling. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, CAPE or TOPS, and AutoCAD. - Personal Attributes & Work Style
Strong initiative, decision-making, business awareness, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize effectively. - Work Environment & Travel
Willingness to travel and work on-site, including weekends if needed. Comfortable working in environments with heavy equipment, dust, smoke, and noise.
