Senior Production and Utilities Engineer

Overview:
The Senior Production and Utilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and optimization of production processes and utility systems within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role focuses on process reliability, energy efficiency, and compliance with stringent safety and environmental regulations, while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of production equipment and critical utility systems (e.g., steam, chilled water, compressed air, chemical feed systems).
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with process engineering, EHS, and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and improve production efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements for chemical manufacturing and utility operations.
  • Lead projects for equipment upgrades, energy conservation, and capacity expansion.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs related to utilities performance, energy usage, and production efficiency; identify cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • 7+ years of experience in production and utilities engineering within chemical or process manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical process systems, utilities infrastructure, and maintenance best practices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, PSM (Process Safety Management), and energy management principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and leadership skills.
