Senior Production/Utilities Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Production/Utilities Engineer is responsible for optimizing plant utility systems and supporting production operations within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on improving reliability, energy efficiency, emissions compliance, and overall plant performance while partnering closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and EHS teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve utility systems including steam, electricity, natural gas, air, water, and cogeneration systems
  • Lead process improvement and operational efficiency projects across the facility
  • Troubleshoot production and equipment issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability
  • Support maintenance planning, outage activities, and equipment performance initiatives
  • Drive energy conservation and emissions reduction efforts while ensuring environmental compliance
  • Assist with capital projects, plant upgrades, and implementation of new technologies
  • Analyze operational data and prepare reports related to production, utilities, and process performance
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and EHS teams to support safe and efficient plant operations
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and compliance records
  • Train plant personnel on equipment, systems, and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
  • Experience in manufacturing, utilities, power generation, or heavy industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of utility systems, process improvement, and plant operations
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment and production processes
  • Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance and safety standards preferred
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and data analysis tools is a plus
