US Trading Firm - Sourcing & Import/Export Specialist
Key Responsibilities
⦁ Source, evaluate, and qualify manufacturers and trading partners in China and Southeast Asia
⦁ Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and lead times directly with factories
⦁ Manage full import/export execution, including:
⦁ Commercial invoices & packing lists
⦁ HS codes and customs documentation
⦁ Incoterms (FOB, CIF, DDP)
⦁ Letters of Credit (LC), TT, and Net payment terms
⦁ Coordinate quality control, inspections, and factory audits
⦁ Manage production schedules and shipment timelines
⦁ Work with freight forwarders across ocean, air, and multimodal logistics
⦁ Serve as the primary liaison between overseas suppliers and US buyers
⦁ Support contract negotiation, PO execution, and issue resolution
⦁ Track and maintain supplier performance metrics (price, quality, delivery reliability)
Required Qualifications
⦁ 5+ years experience at an import/export trading company, sourcing firm, or international distributor
⦁ Direct, hands-on experience working with Chinese factories
⦁ Strong understanding of global trade operations and documentation
⦁ Proven experience with:
⦁ Incoterms
⦁ LC / TT payment structures
⦁ Export documentation
⦁ Freight and customs processes
⦁ Fluent in Mandarin Chinese
⦁ Professional working proficiency in English
⦁ Strong negotiation skills and commercial judgment
Preferred Qualifications
⦁ Experience sourcing industrial products, commodities, building materials, metals, or consumer goods
⦁ Experience supporting US or European customers
⦁ Familiarity with third-party inspections (SGS, BV, TUV, etc.)
⦁ Experience managing Net-30 / Net-60 buyer terms
⦁ Background at:
⦁ Import/export trading firms
⦁ Global sourcing offices
⦁ International distributors
⦁ OEM/ODM sourcing organizations
