A leading international freight forwarding company is seeking a Sales Executive Manager to lead and grow its commercial presence in Madrid. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role focused on building a high-impact sales team and driving new business growth, with a strong emphasis on air freight.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sales team in Madrid
- Drive new business acquisition across air and ocean freight (air-focused)
- Define and execute the commercial strategy for the region
- Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts
- Identify and penetrate target verticals including:
- Pharma & Healthcare
- Food & Perishables
- Fashion & Retail
- Machinery & Industrial
- Furniture & Consumer goods
- Act as a player-coach, actively involved in business development while leading the team
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (operations, product, pricing) to deliver tailored solutions
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities
Profile
- Proven experience in freight forwarding sales (air & ocean, with strong air exposure)
- Demonstrated success in business development (hunter mindset)
- Previous experience in team leadership or mentoring
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive revenue growth
- Exposure to pharma or time-critical logistics is a plus
- Experience working across multiple industry verticals
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and scale a team
