About the Opportunity
A leading aerospace manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist II to join its 2nd Shift team in Park City, Utah. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and programming CNC milling equipment used to manufacture high-precision aerospace components.
This is an excellent opportunity for a machinist who enjoys working in a quality-focused environment and wants to contribute to the production of complex components for the aerospace and defense industries.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual and CNC milling machines with minimal supervision
- Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, process documents, and engineering drawings
- Program, edit, and modify CNC programs as needed
- Monitor part quality and perform inspections using precision measuring instruments
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues
- Perform calculations related to tooling, feeds, speeds, and dimensions
- Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Qualifications
- Completion of a formal machining apprenticeship or 5+ years of CNC machining experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience operating CNC milling equipment
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- Knowledge of machinist hand tools and precision measuring equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and strong mathematical skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
Preferred Experience
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
- CNC program editing and troubleshooting
- Experience machining to tight tolerances
- Knowledge of quality inspection processes and SPC methodologies
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Must meet ITAR requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in a manufacturing environment
Compensation
Target Compensation: $28 - $38+ per hour, depending on experience, technical skill level, and aerospace manufacturing background.
