About the Role
Currently seeking a Lead Design Engineer to spearhead high‑impact VA/VE initiatives within the rapidly growing electric vehicle segment. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, cost optimization, and product innovation-offering high visibility, cross‑functional influence, and the ability to shape product direction from concept through execution. You'll lead design reviews, guide decision‑making, collaborate with global engineering teams, and drive measurable improvements in product cost, performance, and manufacturability.
What You'll Do
- Lead end‑to‑end VA/VE projects from concept through product release, improving cost and value across EV platforms.
- Conduct requirements management, DFMEA, risk analysis, and DVP&R for assigned projects.
- Run brainstorming and ideation sessions to identify new value‑engineering opportunities.
- Evaluate BOMs, engineering data, and product performance to uncover cost‑saving potential.
- Guide technical and project reviews with senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Collaborate with global partners, including engineering teams in India, for testing and prototype support.
- Mentor junior engineers and champion best‑practice value‑engineering processes across the organization.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred, but open to others).
- 7+ years of relevant design, value engineering, or vehicle system experience.
- Strong understanding of VA/VE principles, cost modeling, and product optimization.
- Experience with vehicle mechanical systems (powertrain, chassis, plastics, etc.).
- Competence with DFMEA, DVP&R, engineering change processes, and APQP tools.
- Ability to lead large engineering projects and influence cross‑functional teams.
- Comfortable with CAD tools, engineering documentation, and GD&T standards.
