Planner/Scheduler

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Planner & Scheduler to support production planning, scheduling, and operational performance. This position plays a key role in coordinating production activities, maintaining schedule accuracy, and supporting efficient shop floor execution. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in planning, scheduling, and production control in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, maintain, and update production schedules to support operational objectives and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate planning activities across multiple projects and production teams.
  • Monitor production progress and identify schedule risks or delays.
  • Support planning meetings by preparing and presenting schedule and performance updates.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure production plans align with engineering, operations, and business requirements.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of planning, scheduling, and cost-tracking systems.
  • Generate and analyze reports related to production performance, project progress, and labor utilization.
  • Conduct audits of planning and scheduling data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Track project performance and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and execution.

Work Order & Labor Tracking

  • Generate, manage, and close work orders in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Support labor tracking and ensure accurate recording of production hours.
  • Monitor project performance against planned schedules and labor expectations.

Operational Support

  • Assist in coordinating work package requirements and production priorities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving planning and scheduling effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely completion of scheduled activities.
  • Identify and communicate issues that may affect schedule performance or project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in planning, scheduling, production control, or a related operational environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and other business software applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, construction, or project-based environments.
  • Familiarity with production scheduling, labor tracking, and shop floor coordination.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and operational performance management practices.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily site-based role supporting production and operational activities.
  • Ability to work in both office and operational settings as business needs require.
