Subcontracts Manager
This organization has an immediate opening for a Subcontracts Manager to join their Chantilly, VA team. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. They apply advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native and Quantum Physics to solve their customers' missions in cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar and everything in between.
Subcontracts Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead subcontractor communications: Serve as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters with subcontractors, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Develop and manage subcontract documentation: Create complex statements of work, technical specifications, and ensure proper flow-down of contractual and business requirements.
- Mitigate performance risk: Ensure subcontract terms align with program contracts and federal regulations to reduce supplier risk before finalizing agreements.
- Foster strategic relationships: Build and maintain long-term partnerships with subcontractors to support business competitiveness.
- Drive leadership and innovation: Take initiative in leading supply chain efforts and demonstrating readiness for higher-level responsibilities.
Subcontracts Manager Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Substantial knowledge in the applicable contractual flow downs, federal, state, Federal Acquisition Requirements/DFAR, and local laws, and the ability to apply them in the procurement of commodities, services and subcontracts
- Security clearance is required.
- Expert in specific commodity, product, or technology
- Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) / Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) compliance
- Ability to undertake a mixture of program management and contract management in regards to complex subcontract (e.g. subcontractor budgets, program reviews, schedule, risk, technical performance, earned value management)
- Ability to understand the supplier and internal politics and successfully influence the decision makers to achieve the business and customer's needs
- Exceptional negotiation skills and ability to develop win-win solutions
- Possess excellent analytical skills to aid in solving complex problems
