Position Summary:

A leading global chemical manufacturer is seeking a highly motivated Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer to join its safety and risk management team. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving continuous improvement in process safety performance across the organization's operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the implementation of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 Process Safety Management standards.
  • Conduct and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Layer of Protection Analyses (LOPAs), and other risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain process safety documentation, including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and safety information databases.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to identify and mitigate process safety risks.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses related to process safety events.
  • Monitor and report on key PSM metrics and drive corrective actions.
  • Support Management of Change (MOC) processes and ensure safety reviews are completed for all process modifications.
  • Provide training and mentorship to plant personnel on PSM principles and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing environment with a focus on process safety.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Experience with PHA/LOPA facilitation tools (e.g., PHA-Pro, PHAWorks, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Certification in process safety (e.g., CCPS, CSP, or equivalent) is a plus.
