Regional Operations Manager
A national building materials company is looking to bring on a Regional Operations Manager to support their facilities in the South-Central region of the country. The Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day operations of multiple aggregate production facilities. This role ensures safety, efficiency, profitability, and environmental compliance while leading a team of plant managers and operational staff.
Location: Central Texas (Austin, San Antonio, Waco Region)
Compensation: $150,000-$200,000 (Company vehicle and fuel card also included)
The Regional Operations Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Oversee operations at 5-7 aggregate sites, ensuring production targets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks are met.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop site managers and their teams.
- Monitor and report on KPIs including tonnage output, downtime, maintenance schedules, and safety incidents.
- Collaborate with sales, logistics, and environmental teams to align operations with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
- Manage regional budgets, capital expenditures, and resource planning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all sites.
The ideal Regional Operations Manager candidate will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in aggregates, mining, or heavy industrial operations.
- 3+ years in a multi-site leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of crushing, screening, and material handling equipment.
- Proven track record in safety leadership and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in operational software and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- MSHA Certification
- Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement training
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
