Safety Coordinator
A leading food manufacturer is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join its team in Baltimore. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a company known for quality, innovation, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update all plant safety and environmental programs (e.g., Hazard Communication, Lockout-Tagout, PPE, Emergency Response).
- Facilitate Safety Committee meetings, including agendas, attendance, and compliance audits.
- Ensure timely and accurate safety inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting.
- Lead safety training initiatives, including new hire orientation and ongoing employee education.
- Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Keep all safety-related documentation current and compliant with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with HR and plant management to identify and mitigate workplace risks.
- Perform regular audits of the plant and distribution center.
- Oversee safety-related inspections (fire equipment, AEDs, hoists, ladders, etc.).
- Administer drug screenings and maintain labor law postings.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a safety-related role (manufacturing preferred).
- Familiarity with OSHA General Industry regulations.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience in organizations with 500+ employees preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Shift: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Moderate physical activity; standing/walking for extended periods.
- Frequent work in cold, wet environments (28-35°F).
- Collaborative, diverse team environment.
