EHS Manager

Job Description:
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, promotes a culture of safety, and drives continuous improvement in EHS performance. The manager works closely with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead EHS strategy and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Manage environmental reporting, permitting, and waste disposal programs.
  • Monitor and analyze EHS metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into operational planning.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and external audits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.
  • 7+ years of EHS experience in chemical or process manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene, process safety management (PSM), and hazardous materials handling.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are preferred.
