Operations Superintendent
Job Description:
The Operations Superintendent oversees daily plant operations within a chemical manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production. This leadership role is responsible for managing production teams, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The superintendent works closely with EHS, maintenance, engineering, and quality departments to meet production targets while maintaining high safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate plant operations to ensure production goals are met.
- Lead and develop frontline supervisors and operators, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
- Monitor process performance and implement improvements to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support maintenance, quality control, and capital projects.
- Analyze operational data and prepare reports for senior management.
- Support training programs and workforce development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of chemical processing, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
