Maintenance Manager

Position Overview: The Maintenance Manager provides expertise and leadership to the service and maintenance staff, ensuring the safe maintenance, repair, or replacement of plant assets. This role drives continuous improvement in plant operations for efficient, high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership in maintenance operations to maximize production.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term maintenance strategies for operational efficiency.
  • Establish safety goals and plans for the Maintenance Department.
  • Create an effective Plant Maintenance Program using industry best practices.
  • Supervise and inspect maintenance work to ensure the use of up-to-date technology and preferred practices.
  • Manage and analyze maintenance KPIs to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor and communicate departmental performance in safety, environmental, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Guide the development of the maintenance business plan and forecasts.
  • Lead maintenance staff to exceed industry standards and set new uptime and reliability benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Leadership Team on plant goals and organizational effectiveness.
  • Negotiate with Labor Union representatives using win-win strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies and regulations.
  • Foster a culture of care and active participation in safety and maintenance reliability.
  • Train and motivate maintenance staff to achieve departmental objectives safely and cost-effectively.
  • Lead and motivate teams to achieve performance excellence, adjusting approaches as needed.
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills to make optimal decisions and drive consensus.

Qualifications:

Academic:

  • 2-year technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)

Experience:

  • 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including 5+ years in maintenance management (Required)
  • Proficiency with software packages such as Microsoft Office, JDE, PLC/DCS, or similar CMMS
