Our client, a leading player in the aerospace sector based in Lucerne, Switzerland, is at the forefront of developing high-precision, mission-critical systems for global aviation and space programs. With a strong emphasis on innovation, quality, and collaboration, they are seeking a skilled and driven Project Lead Buyer to join their dynamic procurement team.


Role Summary:

As Project Lead Buyer, you will take ownership of procurement activities for complex and high-value aerospace projects. You will lead cross-functional purchasing initiatives, manage strategic supplier relationships, and ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of critical components and systems. Your role will be key in supporting engineering, production, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution within budget and time constraints.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement activities across assigned aerospace projects from concept through to delivery.

  • Develop and execute project-specific sourcing strategies in collaboration with engineering and project management teams.

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for quality, capability, risk, and performance.

  • Negotiate contracts and framework agreements, ensuring optimal pricing, lead times, and compliance with industry regulations.

  • Monitor and report on procurement performance metrics, including cost savings, delivery schedules, and supplier KPIs.

  • Mitigate supply chain risks by identifying alternative sources and driving dual sourcing strategies where appropriate.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align purchasing strategies with overall project goals.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100), and customer requirements.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement department.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in strategic purchasing or project procurement, preferably in the aerospace, defence, or high-tech sectors.

  • Proven track record of managing complex supplier negotiations and project-based procurement.

  • Strong understanding of aerospace supply chain requirements and regulatory standards.

  • Excellent analytic, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and MS Office.

  • Fluent in English; German proficiency is a strong advantage.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
