Are you a customs professional who enjoys leading teams, solving complex challenges, and making a real impact on supply chain operations?

We're partnering with a global logistics organization to find a Customs Supervisor who can take ownership of a busy customs function, support operational excellence, and help shape the future of customs processes within a fast-paced international environment.

This is an opportunity to step into a visible leadership role where you'll work closely with operational teams, customs authorities, and senior stakeholders while mentoring a growing team and driving continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

As Customs Supervisor, you'll be responsible for ensuring smooth and compliant customs operations while leading and developing a team of customs specialists.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching, and motivating the Customs team.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely execution of customs declarations and related processes.
  • Overseeing bonded warehouse administration and compliance activities.
  • Acting as a key user for customs systems and supporting reporting, reconciliations, and customs payments.
  • Supporting audits and ensuring adherence to customs legislation, AEO requirements, and internal policies.
  • Driving process improvements and implementing best practices across customs operations.
  • Identifying operational risks and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with customs authorities, government agencies, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Managing representation agreements and ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborating closely with warehousing, transport, and contract logistics teams to deliver exceptional service.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within customs, logistics, freight forwarding, or international trade.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a customs environment.
  • Strong understanding of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with bonded warehousing and contract logistics operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of customs software and customs-related processes.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • The ability to prioritize effectively and perform in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
