Head of Category Management - Cloud
A technology-focused trading firm is seeking a Senior Sourcing Lead to oversee Cloud & AI Infrastructure procurement. This role will partner closely with engineering, infrastructure, finance, and executive stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, negotiate cloud agreements, and support large-scale technology investments. This position can sit out of their office in NYC, Chicago, or Austin, TX.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies across cloud, AI, and infrastructure categories
- Lead commercial negotiations with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and other technology providers
- Manage cloud cost optimization initiatives, including consumption analysis, benchmarking, and FinOps-related activities
- Structure and negotiate enterprise agreements, cloud commitments, reserved capacity agreements, and pricing arrangements
- Build and maintain strategic vendor relationships across cloud and AI providers
- Partner with engineering and business teams to align sourcing decisions with technology roadmaps
- Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and pricing dynamics to identify opportunities and mitigate risk
- Provide guidance on cloud and AI sourcing decisions across the organization
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, vendor management, or category management
- Experience negotiating cloud agreements with major hyperscalers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Background in cloud economics, FinOps, consumption-based pricing, and cost optimization
- Demonstrated success managing large technology spend portfolios
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and business leaders
- Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation capabilities
