Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager - Clinical & Surgical to lead strategic sourcing and contract negotiations for a diverse portfolio of clinical and surgical products across a large healthcare organization. This individual will play a critical role in developing national supplier agreements, optimizing contract value, managing GPO relationships, and driving cost savings while ensuring product quality, clinical alignment, and supply continuity.

The ideal candidate will possess deep healthcare contracting expertise, extensive experience negotiating national agreements, and a strong background managing clinical and surgical categories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead contract negotiations with manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers for clinical and surgical product categories.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with organizational cost savings, quality, and operational objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing, rebates, tier structures, service commitments, and contract terms for national agreements.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance to maximize value and ensure contractual compliance.
  • Partner closely with clinical stakeholders, physicians, nursing leadership, supply chain teams, and executive leadership throughout the sourcing and contracting process.
  • Evaluate market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry benchmarks to support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Analyze utilization data, spend reports, and contract performance metrics to identify savings opportunities.
  • Collaborate with GPO partners and suppliers to optimize contract portfolios and leverage national purchasing agreements.
  • Lead cross-functional contract implementation efforts to ensure successful adoption and execution.
  • Support standardization initiatives and category management strategies across clinical and surgical spend areas.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and contract governance standards.

  • Clinical Treatment Consumables

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5+ years of healthcare sourcing, contracting, category management, or supply chain experience.
  • Healthcare industry experience is required.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex supplier contracts and national agreements.
  • Strong experience managing and negotiating within GPO contract environments.
  • Experience supporting clinical and surgical product categories.
  • Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience evaluating spend, pricing models, and contract performance.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple levels of a healthcare organization.
