About the Company:

Our client is a well-established international manufacturer of premium consumer products, operating within a highly regulated production environment. With a strong focus on quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, the business is investing in its manufacturing capabilities to support future growth and innovation.

As part of this journey, they are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the site's maintenance function and ensure the reliability, performance, and safety of all production assets.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Site Head, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading a team of 10 maintenance professionals and driving a proactive maintenance strategy across the manufacturing facility. This role requires a strong mechanical maintenance background, coupled with leadership experience in a fast-paced production environment.

You will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, developing maintenance best practices, and supporting future capital investment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 10 maintenance technicians and engineers.
  • Ensure high levels of equipment availability across all production and utility assets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Establish and develop preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
  • Implement and optimise spare parts management and maintenance planning processes.
  • Minimise unplanned downtime through robust root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support the development of a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) culture across the site.
  • Manage external contractors, service providers, and equipment manufacturers.
  • Lead and support CAPEX projects, including equipment upgrades, line expansions, and new installations.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and improve the performance of maintenance KPIs, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to support operational goals.

Candidate Profile:

  • Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent technical apprenticeship/master technician qualification.
  • Proven background in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership or maintenance management position.
  • Experience within the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, FMCG, or other regulated production environments is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering, preventive maintenance, and asset management principles.
  • Experience implementing maintenance improvement initiatives and reducing equipment downtime.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Hands-on approach with a strong continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working with CMMS systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluent German and professional English would be advantageous.
