Position Overview
Our Client, a growing manufacturer within the food production industry, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations and support a high-performing poultry product facility. This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance personnel, driving equipment reliability, coordinating preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring safe and efficient plant operations.
The ideal candidate is a practical leader with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and minimizing equipment downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance team members while promoting a strong culture of safety and accountability.
- Coordinate and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities throughout the facility.
- Ensure manufacturing equipment and plant systems remain operational and available to support production requirements.
- Partner with production and operations teams to identify equipment issues and implement effective, long-term solutions.
- Manage equipment repairs, upgrades, rebuilds, and replacement projects to improve reliability and performance.
- Monitor maintenance processes and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, productivity, and equipment lifespan.
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with workforce planning activities including scheduling, training, performance management, and employee development.
- Evaluate facility systems and equipment performance and implement initiatives that support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and production equipment systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supporting maintenance operations in food, beverage, agricultural, or other process manufacturing environments is a plus.
Work Environment
This position operates within a manufacturing setting and may require exposure to:
- Hot, cold, humid, and wet production environments.
- Industrial machinery, moving equipment, and elevated noise levels.
- Chemicals and cleaning agents commonly used in food production facilities.
- Frequent interaction with forklifts, trailers, and other industrial vehicles.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all plant safety requirements.
