Operations Superintendent
Job Summary:
The Operations Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role manages frontline supervisors and production teams, drives process improvements, and supports strategic initiatives to meet quality, safety, and output targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate production activities to meet operational goals and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor process performance and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to resolve operational issues.
- Manage workforce scheduling, training, and performance development.
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process changes.
- Maintain accurate production records and report key performance indicators to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing operations, with supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
