Plant Manager
Our client is seeking a Plant Manager to lead a complex manufacturing operation within the specialty chemicals and materials sector. This individual will be responsible for overall site performance, including safety, production, quality, engineering, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the facility meets customer requirements, achieves financial and operational targets, and supports future business growth. This position requires a hands-on leader with experience in process manufacturing and a proven ability to develop high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing performance.
- Lead production, engineering, maintenance, and continuous improvement functions across the facility.
- Develop and execute site strategies that support business objectives, growth initiatives, and operational performance goals.
- Foster a positive employee relations environment and effectively lead within a unionized workforce.
- Lead capital project planning and execution, including equipment upgrades, process improvements, and facility investments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience within chemical, specialty materials, coatings, polymers, plastics, or other process manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing plant operations and cross-functional teams.
- Experience leading operations within a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, operational excellence, and process optimization.
