We are partnering with a rapidly expanding organisation within the Life Sciences and advanced manufacturing sector to appoint a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Guangzhou. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who thrives in a regulated environment and enjoys taking ownership of sourcing initiatives, supplier management, cost optimisation, and category development.

This is more than a transnational purchasing role. We are seeking an individual who can challenge the status quo, uncover cost-saving opportunities, analyse supplier markets, and contribute to long-term procurement strategies.

You will play a key role in managing sourcing projects from market assessment and supplier qualification through to commercial negotiation, contract award, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

  • Execute end-to-end sourcing projects across assigned categories.
  • Conduct supplier market research, spend analysis, benchmarking, and procurement planning.
  • Lead RFQ supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract award recommendations.
  • Perform Total Cost of Ownership assessments to support sourcing decisions.
  • Identify, develop, and implement cost reduction and value improvement initiatives.

Category & Supplier Management

  • Support the development and execution of category strategies across multiple spend areas.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance through KPIs, scorecards, and business reviews.
  • Monitor supplier risks and support contingency planning, dual-sourcing programs, and business continuity initiatives.

ERP Management

  • Prepare sourcing recommendations, tender evaluations, and commercial justifications.
  • Create and maintain procurement documentation, contracts, purchasing records, source lists, and supplier master data within SAP MM or equivalent ERP platforms.
  • Ensure contract compliance and monitor sourcing activities against procurement governance requirements.

Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience within a regulated or quality-driven industry is essential, including pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Medical Devices, Fine Chemicals, Consumer Healthcare
  • Hands-on experience managing sourcing projects from supplier identification through contract implementation.
  • Practical experience using SAP or ERP platforms.
  • Fluent Mandarin and English.
