Product Developer (SDA)
Our client is a well-established home appliances electronics business with a strong presence across Asia and global retail channels. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Product Developer (SDA) to drive new product development initiatives within the category.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on product development professional with experience managing products from concept through commercialization, working closely with cross-functional teams across Hong Kong and Mainland China.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end product development projects for SDA products, from concept creation to mass production.
- Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure product requirements are achieved.
- Work closely with factories and suppliers across China on product design, tooling, development milestones, and technical feasibility.
- Evaluate new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to enhance product performance and competitiveness.
- Coordinate product testing, validation, compliance, and certification requirements.
- Support cost analysis, value engineering, and product optimization initiatives.
- Monitor project schedules and drive timely execution of development activities.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and market trend analysis to identify new product opportunities.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners throughout the development cycle.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product Design, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 3-5 years of product development experience within consumer electronics or SDA products.
- Solid knowledge of product development processes, manufacturing, tooling, and production systems.
- Experience working with factories and suppliers in Mainland China.
- Familiarity with categories such as kitchen appliances, personal care products, home appliances, or related SDA products would be advantageous.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Good understanding of product compliance and quality requirements for international markets.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin; Cantonese is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel within China when required.
